Isophthalic dihydrazide is primarily used in the rubber industry to improve the physical properties and durability of rubber compounds.
- Reduce Rolling Resistance: In green tire tread compounds, isophthalic dihydrazide significantly reduces the dynamic heat generation of tires, thereby improving tire durability.
- Improve Rubber Performance: After adding isophthalic dihydrazide, the crosslink density of rubber increases, tensile stress and flex fatigue resistance improve, but elongation at break, tear strength and wear resistance slightly decrease.
- Optimize Processing Performance: Isophthalic dihydrazide can shorten scorch time, accelerate vulcanization speed, and improve the Mooney viscosity of the compound. However, the dosage needs to be controlled between 0.2-0.6 parts to balance processing performance and dynamic heat generation.
